My Lunch For Today

Dscn1347

one of the things that I like best of living in Spain, apart of the "siesta", is "la media jornada de verano"...literally is half a day of summer.... this happens between June and September in some companies. during the year we work from 8.30 am to 2pm and from 3pm to 6pm, but around June 15Th we change our timetable from 8.30am to 3pm!! so, imagine, we have 3 months with all the afternoons free!!

well, that ended yesterday....snif, snif...so now we have to eat at work, in a little kitchen were 40 persons have to make turns to eat in an hour....

I made a Green Salad with Honey and Lime Dressing

I'm not even gonna put the recipe, because it is basically made of  lettuce, fennel, chive, red onion and germinated broccoli, but you can mix it with anything. the dressing is made of honey and the juice of 1 lime (or lemon if you don't have lime). Maybe add a little of olive oil and salt if you prefer, but it will taste great without it.

I can read that there are some linguistic problems (which could be solved if my dear author wants me to practice my translation skills ;)...just giving ideas...)That's why I've decided to write this post in English. Ok...let's get to the point: You can see in the picture that this salad looks delicious....but I was one of the fortunate ones that could try it at work....and it tastes even better than it seems!!!Soooo crunchy!!Oh, and I strongly recommend the sauce.

Flo, I know...I'm trying to make it half and half, with the spanish, english...in your blog, do you translate it yourself? I tried to learn french, but I found it a little hard so instead I married Alvaro that speaks it wonderfully, jijij

hello ! I'v seen your link and comment on my blog and I'm glad you like it... I am browsing through yours, and although I' m missing a big part of it(should have taken spanish at school!), I really like it!

gracias por tan buen apoyo!! hoy tengo cena en el Arabia, osea que toca marroqui, por que es el cumple de Alvaro. mañana os cuelgo algo de lo que cene hoy...

I like the sound of "la media jornada de verano." I never heard of it before, but I think it's a great idea.

Paz ;-)

LOL! Yes, I'm with Lapau. What are you going to eat today? ;-)

I'm hungry after reading your post, and I just woke up. jajaja!

I think I'd like to try your honey salad dressing. I like the sound of it.

Best,
Paz
