These zucchinis are the first to come from our new garden. I wanted to try the zucchini flowers in tempura, but we let them grow too much and we lost the chance... but we've got much more!! Eggplants, red and green peppers, tomatoes, (all of these are about to start growing...) pumpkins

Alvaro is taking care of them everyday, this is something he loves, like his own big baby.

::About Last Year...and Emma::

P1010829

It's going to be almost a year since I wrote for the last time, oh wow!
Amazing how time goes by... I arrived from Brittany in mid August with big, huge brand news....
I was going to have a baby!!

I was in Marbella at the time, just ending my holidays and preparing to go back to work when we got the news. You can imagine my enthusiasm and happiness, and also my fear to another possible miscarriage. I was just terrified and I didn't think that I could go through another one, I just didn't have the strenght...so I got a medical leave from work and started a long 9 month pregnancy at home.

The first months where quite a nightmare, being at home, alone most of the time, in bed, and gaining extra pounds ... my days went by quite well thanks to many TV series, like Buffy or Gilmore Girls.
I had low results in the Triple Screening, so I had the Amniocentesis done... This could have been one of the scariest moments in my life if it wasn't thanks to the good news we had that day, our baby was fine and it was a she, a baby girl!!

The next months where a little better, I could start moving normally and you know how everybody tells you that the 2nd Tri is full of energy, well this is true, I was feeling well and I was letting me believe in the possibility that the pregnancy was going to go ok.

Christmas came and me and my family went to Marbella, my sister was also pregnant and was on her last month of pregnancy, so we kind of had the last Christmas by ourselves, with no babys.

My 3rd Trim began feeling just great, but I was gaining a lot of weight because the inactivity so I had to go on diet...of course I didn't loose any pounds but at least I could control a bit the extra weight I was supposed to gain in the last 2 months.

My sister gave birth on February 8th to a beautiful baby boy called Mateo (Matthew). He changed our life, not only hers but also mine. I had the best first contact to a baby I could possibly have. He is soooo lovely, and always in a good mood, smiling and laughing. He hardly ever cries, and if he does it's always for a good reason, he sleeps all night through, and already did it with 2 months...he is the sunshine in this house.

So it was my turn, I was the next to go into labor, and the time came 2 weeks earlier than my due date. I water broke at 5 am on Monday April 14th, we rushed to the hospital and after a long day trying to dilate, I had a c-section made at 11.26 pm. Emma was born then.
I hardly had the chance to see her, they gave her to Alvaro that was waiting outside and they took me to Observation room for 2 hours.
At the same time the attendant was taking me to my room at 2 am, the pediatrician was taking Emma to the ICU. Apparently she had this little noise when she breathed and they wanted to have her under observation for a day.
This certainly was hard for me, I didn't have the chance to hold her for the first hours of birth...
The next day she stayed also in ICU to complete the 24 hour, and we had the chance to check on her for a  couple of hours during the day. Anyway, she was fine, and it was quite normal to have this noise  when the baby is born of a c-section.

We finally went home a week later with our healthy baby. It's true the first months are hard but she in starting to smile now, and this are the best moments ever.

She is almost 2 months now and I'm having the time of my life.
I'll be back soon!
